EIS Series - Multi Mount Single- And Multi-Mode Media
Another great benefit inherently built into a media converter is the isolation factor. Since the data is communicating via a fiber optic connection, the data is transmitted by light – therefore no conductive wires connect the far ends of the system.
The EIS series single-mode and multi-mode media converters are stand alone products that come with a power supply or have the option to be mounted in a 19 inch rack chassis. The rack system holds up to 16 of the EIS products and includes one power supply that will provide power to each of the EIS models via the backplane. A second power supply for the rack system (model EIS-RACKPS) can be purchased. Use of two power supplies provides a load-sharing service that will add redundancy to your system. If one power supply goes down the other takes over immediately.
